Happy Birthday to Me. If this looks a lot like the Thanksgiving photos, it's because it's in the same place with a lot of the same people. Having a birthday that falls so close to a commuter holiday means I usually party with the small amount of people who stayed in town. Knowing this small celebratory obstacle just gives me even more of an excuse to celebrate all month. Throughout November, I had a cocktail party at Pegu Club thrown by Annie (Thanks, A!), had an amazing vegan dinner cooked for me by my friend who is 11, went ice skating in Central Park, had friends over for brunch/Thanksgiving leftovers, and ate a personalized ice cream cake that my roommates made for me. On the actual day, after eating, drinking, dance partying, and being serenaded via Skype from AMSTERDAM with the "Happy Birthday" song IN DUTCH, we took our galavanting to the streets to buy our first ever roommate Christmas tree (and haul it home over our heads). Thank you, friends. Welcome, Winter.
